Have you ever thought to change localhost directories or files icon When you open the localhost root directory? I was also thinking to change the icon of the locahost file because the localhost index directory's icon was not UI designed after that I researched this and I found out an interesting thing to manipulate the localhost files icon and the result are in front of you.
Let's change icons for the localhost directory.
First of all, open your XAMPP server and open the project directory where you can find out all the files and directories list in front of you.
Now you need to do inspect the element you can also use a short-code for that press F12 of any icon. This will help you to get the image location detail.
After that minimize your browser's windows and go to your XAMPP installed directory and apache->icons in this folder you will get all the icons that are using on the localhost project.
Now you need to just paste images that can download from the bottom of this post. While pasting images in the icons directory it will ask you to confirm replace all images and confirm it and refresh your browser you will see the new icons are showing now.
If you want to use any other icons you can use but make sure you need to add .gif at the end of the images.
If you want to use your custom icons so you need to paste your icon in the same folder(apache->icons) and make sure you have remaned your icons file as you see in the inspect element, add .gif at the end of your icon file and last thing icon size should be about 48pexels so icon can be visible or look good.
All the icons which I am using are downloaded from https://www.iconfinder.com/iconsets/file-types-outline-1 you can also download icons from any website which you prefer.
